Invitation To Salvation

Salvation is the free gift of God to His creation, man, through His only Son Jesus Christ.  Salvation cannot be obtained through any works that we can perform to show God how good we are.  It is only available by accepting that each of us is a sinner before making Jesus our Lord and Savior and recognizing that we cannot save ourselves.

Jesus, in speaking with Nicodemus, states to him "...Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3 KJV) and also "...Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."(John 3:5 KJV) showing that it is necessary to be born again.  In His discourse with the eleven disciples at the Last Supper, He revealed to them that He is "...the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father; but by me." (John 14:6 KJV).  In doing so He reveals to those with Him and us that He is the only way to the salvation offered by the Father.  His saving work was completed when He took your and my sins to the Cross and forever paid the price in full for them.  Luke, in reporting Peter's response to the High Priest's question of by what power or name he had healed the lame that had sat at the gate Beautiful, writes that Peter clearly and boldly stated; "... that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole." Acts 4:10 (KJV) and continuing to further state that; "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12 (KJV).

If God, through the ministering of the Holy Spirit, has led you here to this day and to this point of decision, consider that the desire of the Father is that not one be lost.  He has provided a way, a path to salvation through his Son Jesus Christ for as John wrote "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16 KJV).  God loves you! He does not wait until you are good enough before accepting you into the family of God making you His child.

If you have decided to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior the way is to do so is simple, as shown to us by the apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans; " That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH ON HIM SHALL NOT BE ASHAMED." (Romans 10: 9-11).

If have chosen to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life and your Savior, pray this prayer aloud:

Father, I come to you a sinner.  I know that I cannot save myself.  I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  I believe He was born, and that He shed His Blood and died on the Cross obtaining forgiveness of my sins. Was resurrected and lives today.  I renounce the devil and all his works.  I ask you Father to create in me a new heart and a new Spirit.  Thank you Jesus for saving me.  Thank you Father for accepting me into your family.  In Jesus name I pray.  Amen.
